SPIC News: Adding Anti-bird Wire to PV Modules to Boost Power Generation

Background description: Guangxi Wuxuan Darong Power Plant is a floating PV power plant where there are a large number of birds. Flocks of birds often stay on the top of the modules and excrete feces which drop on the modules, and thus pollute and cover the PV modules and cause the hot spot effect which endangers the safety of the modules and affects the safe and stable operation of the equipment. Generally, the method of removing bird droppings manually is adopted, which is labor-intensive, costly, and treats the symptoms but not the root cause. If bird nets or poisoning methods are used, the surrounding ecological environment will be damaged.

Suggested measures: Add very fine anti-bird 304 wire with a diameter of 0.5 mm to the upper end of the solar modules. The bird repellent steel wire is made of high-quality stainless steel, with secondary galvanization after the processing of galvanized flat iron, to prevent the material from rusting and rust water from polluting the components and thus affect power generation, with the advantages of simplicity, economy, high efficiency, non-pollution, no damage to the ecological environment.

Specific measures: Punch holes on the top corner of the aluminum alloy frame of the solar panel on top of the PV array, and fix the flat iron processing parts to the top of the PV array with stainless steel screws.
